On September 2, 2018, Chairman of NORINCO International Wang Yitong met with President of the Republic of Ghana H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo at Diaoyutai Guesthouse. Both sides exchanged views on all-round cooperation in Ghana starting from infrastructure construction projects.

During the meeting, Wang Yitong expressed his gratitude to President Akufo for taking time to meet NORINCO International during the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. He stated that, with rich experience in the field of rail transit, NOINRCO International is taking an active part in infrastructure development in Ghana and is willing to participate in the construction of railway and urban light rail projects. With a focus on irrigation project in northern Ghana, he introduced NORINCO International's business achievements in the areas of rail transit, power engineering, petroleum and mining facilities, municipal and housing projects. NORINCO International is looking forward to taking advantages of the state's strategy of the "Belt and Road" and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, to fully participating in Ghana's infrastructure.

President Akufo expressed his warm welcome to Wang Yitong's visit and showed heartfelt thanks to NORINCO International for its strong support to Ghana's economic development. He said that infrastructure construction is of great importance for Ghana. Agriculture is the pillar of Ghana's economy, and irrigation project is an indispensable area for the development of agriculture, which is crucial for Ghana's future. China is a sincere partner of Ghana, and the pragmatic cooperation has created significant development opportunities for each other. Ghana welcomes Chinese enterprises to participate in the economic development of Ghana and also welcomes NORINCO International's investment and construction in Ghana. He asked all ministers present and relevant government departments to give full support to such projects.

The two sides also communicated on railway, light rail, highway, municipal projects and other potential areas of cooperation.

Vice President of NORINCO International Shan Jun, Dong Jifeng, Ghana's Director of President Office, Ghana's Minister of Railway Development, Ghana's Minister of Food and Agriculture were present.
