- NORINCO International First Invested Mega Clean Energy Project in Central and Eastern Europe has Started the Construction -

On November 20, the ground-breaking ceremony of Croatian Senj 156 MW Wind Farm Project invested and constructed by NORINCO International was held in Croatia. Mr. Andrej Plenković, Croatian Prime Minister, Mr. Hu Zhaoming, Chinese Ambassador to Croatia and Mr. Wang Yitong, Chairman of NORINCO International and other 70 guests attended the ceremony. 


In November 2017, during the 6th China-Central Eastern European Countries Leaders Summit, under the joint witness of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Croatian Premier Plenković and other leaders of 15 Countries of Central Eastern Europe, NORINCO International and Croatian Energy Project Company signed the project cooperation agreement.

The Senji Wind FarmProject is the first major investment project of economic cooperation between the two countries. The Chinese company takes full confidence to complete the construction of the wind farm within two years. The Croatian side hopes to continue to strengthen cooperation with China in more infrastructure projects.”Croatian Premier Plenković said in his speech, he also expressed his hope that NORINCO International will take advantage of this project to form a closer cooperation with the Croatian side and further participate in the infrastructure construction of Croatia.

Chairman Wang Yitong made a brief introduction of the project. Senji wind farm covers an area of about 45 square kilometers and has a total installed capacity of 156 megawatts. It is estimated to generate 3,400 hours per year with an annual power generation of 530 million kWh. This is the largest power project implemented by Croatia in recent years. It is also the first clean energy project invested by Chinese companies in Croatia. Meanwhile, the project is NORINCO International’s invested and constructed first large-scale clean energy project in Central and Eastern Europe in response to the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
