On February 14, 2019, Mr. Zou Wenchao, Vice President of NORINCO Group paid an investigation visit to NORINCO International. Mr. Ni Zejun, general manager, Madam Dang Ying, deputy general manager of NORINCO Group's Civil Products Development Department; Mr. Peng Fuhua, deputy director of the General Management Department, Mr. Gao Sheng, Deputy Researcher of the General Office, Mr. Qian Xiaoyu, Business Manager of the Civil Products Development accompanied the investigation. Mr. Zhang Guanjie, the Secretary of the Party Committee of NORINCO, Madam Zhang Xiaoming, director of the Strategy Department of NORINCO, and executive management team of NORINCO International attended the meeting. On behalf of NORINCO International management board, Mr. Yuan Jun, the President of NORINCO International made a report of the 13th Five-Year Development Plan and the progress of the company’s ongoing key projects.
During the meeting, Madam Dang Ying put forward three suggestions. First, the company should aim to develop itself with international first-class and high standards, which means the company should focus on strategic position, deepen pragmatic international operations. Second, NORINCO International should promote major projects and achieve success in the current operational period. The third is to deal with the relationship between market diversification and key market focus, as well as between current business and sustainable development.
Mr. Ni Zejun pointed out that NORINCO International lies in a very important position in NORINCO Group. In the “Belt and Road” initiative advocated by the government, NORINCO International is the pioneer for the Group. In the future work, NORINCO International should do the following: First, we should bear in mind the responsibility of the state-owned enterprise, and we should take the major national decisions and strategies as our mission. Second, we need to deepen the international management. Third, we must focus on our core business, enhance professional capabilities, and build a world-class enterprise. Fourth, we should adhere to the bottom line and manage and control major risks.
Mr. Zou Wenchao fully affirmed the operation of NORINCO International. In response to the next step, Mr. Zou Wenchao emphasized that it is necessary to improve political standing. Projects undertaken by NORINCO International in the international arena are considered to be Chinese-made projects which will represents China. Therefore, we need to complete each project in high-quality standard since it will serve as a business card to display China's image. Second, we must vigorously take our advantages, including brand advantage, industries advantage to focus on our main business, and market advantages to achieve deep cultivation and sustainable development in traditional markets. Third, we must build a first-class enterprise and cultivate systematic management capabilities. The most basic feature of a world-class enterprise is its systematic management capability. It is necessary to build a standardized management module and add personalized management modules according to the characteristics of the host country to achieve standardization, systematization and efficient management. Fourth, we must manage and control risks. With the increasingly development of NORINCO International, the project scale is constantly increasing, and the risks are also rising. Faced with the complex and volatile domestic and international environment at the current stage, various risks are going up. Therefore, it is necessary to focus on high-quality markets to improve systemic management capabilities, to achieve systemic control, to avoid the risks brought about by "people governance," to effectively respond to political, economic, environmental, and investment risks, and to achieve stable operations. Fifth, we must strive our best to build a talent team. Sixth, we must do a good job in Party building and care more about our employees. Our businesses involve many international markets, and we must carry out Party building work in accordance with the requirements.
Finally, Mr. Zhang Guanjie made a concluding speech. Mr. Zhang Guanjie pointed out that it is necessary to study, understand and think the speeches of Mr. Zou Wenchao and other leaders. We should re-orient, re-preside, and re-focus on the development of NORINCO International to achieve professional and high quality development. In addition, the leaders of NORINCO International should be loyal, clean, and responsible, and live up to the expectations of the Party group of NORINCO Group.
